Cayman Brac food - always to remember
The Captain’s Table is located near the Brac Caribbean Beach Village on the South Side. It’s more upscale than some of the other restaurants but there really isn’t any formal dining on the Brac. There’s a good selection of pasta, conch fritters, and seafood dishes. There is also an outdoor bar. The Brac Reef Resort provides an exciting menu of gourmet specialties, delicious fresh fish and island favorites. The buffet always provides a varied menu with plenty for a hearty appetite. You can eat in the air conditioned restaurant or dine on the patio among the palms and tropical breezes. The bar is also outside where you can enjoy the picturesque grounds. Aunt Sha’s provides a casual, local atmosphere by the sea. Enjoy breakfast on the patio overlooking the sea or dine inside for lunch and dinner. The Coral Isle, one of the Brac’s few nightspots, adjoins Aunt Sha’s. The Coral Isle provides a more boisterous atmosphere "after hours". Biggie's Head Chef is Anu Christopher, who has developed a reputation for fine cuisine at the Hungry Iguana Restaurant in Little Cayman, where he was until recently Chef /Manager. The dinner menu is described as "Cayman influenced international cuisine", and includes Caribbean, Indian, American, Oriental and Italian dishes. All desserts except ice-cream are made at Biggies. Brac specials on the lunch menu include "Atlantis Conch Chowder", "Biggies Special Fish Tea", and the "8oz Atlantis Angus Burger". Also found are local favourites in the "Brackers Delight" section, such as curried goat, turtle stew and oxtail. Biggies also has a drive-through service for the regular take-out menu, though customers are asked to call in their orders ten to fifteen minutes before pick-up at the window. Market Place offers a number of gourmet items (cheeses and deli), hot dishes including island favorites such as oxtail, curry chicken and fresh fish, picnic lunch for your day trip, baked items, freshly-made sandwiches and salads. Hot take-out pizza with variety of toppings.
