Cayman Brac is not just for divers! Great snorkeling can be found either by boat or off the shore. TheBrac.com's favorite spots are highlighted below. The North side of the island offers some of the best snorkeling due to its iron shore. A sandy bottom will often "muddy" the water and reduce visibility. Bucaneer's - North Side. Where the Old Bucaneer Hotel used to be. Take the first road west of the West End Post Office and head north to the sea. Large area cut into iron shore where it is well protected. Swim out to the sea for great snorkeling. Radar Reef - North Side. Head north on the road in Stake Bay that the museum is on. Go past the Government Center. The road dead ends at the sea. Good area for snorkeling and a shore dive. (note the handrails and steps leading into the water.) Public Beach, located on South Side of the island. There is a reef offshore, which offers great snorkeling. West End - North Side. Go west on the West End Road. The road will take a 90 degree turn to the right and continue on the road until it dead ends at the sea. Good area for snorkeling off to the left of the road.
